DAY 1.SAN JOSÉ, COSTA RICA (20 MINUTES)

Welcome to San José, Costa Rica. See some of the world’s rarest sights: delicate rainforest orchids, volcanic hot springs, a sky blue river, primeval cloud forest, and exotic squirrel monkeys. We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. You can explore the capital city with its theaters, museums and beautiful parks. Or, simply sit in a café and enjoy a cup of Costa Rican coffee while you watch the daily life of the “Ticos”. Accommodation: the hotel of your choice.

DAY 2. SAN JOSÉ

Breakfast at the hotel. You have a free day to visit the many attractions around the capital city: the Poás Volcano, the artisan town of Sarchí, Irazu Volcano and orchid gardens, a rainforest aerial tram, white water rafting on the Pacuare River, a Tortuga Island cruise, a coffee tour, and a host of other options that are available. In the evening, you can visit a traditional Costa Rican restaurant offering live music and a dance show, or try international cuisine in one of the excellent restaurants of the area. DAY 3.SAN JOSÉ – SARAPIQUI (2,30 HOURS)

Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will travel through the majestic Braulio Carrillo National Park until you reach the town of Sarapiquí, where the beauty and diversity of tropical nature will delight your senses. Besides incredible bird watching, there are many activities available in the area. Accommodation: the hotel of your choice.

DAY 4.SARAPIQUI

Breakfast at the hotel. You have the day free to enjoy your hotel’s facilities or to engage in some of the many activities available in the area. Accommodation: the hotel of your choice.

DAY 5.SARAPIQUI – ARENAL VOLCANO (3 HOURS)

Breakfast at the hotel. Awaiting you today in the Northern Plains is the impressive Arenal Volcano, a natural wonder with an iconic cone-shaped crater. Along the way there, you will see plantations of various agricultural crops, ornamental plants, and cattle ranches until you reach the town of La Fortuna. The town is worth visiting to walk and to have lunch or dinner. Your hotel is strategically located to appreciate the volcano. Accommodation: the hotel of your choice.

DAY 6.ARENAL VOLCANO

Breakfast at the hotel. Resorts with natural hot springs and spas are one of the greatest attractions to enjoy in the Arenal region. Other top activities include: visiting the Arenal Volcano National Park, zip line tours, suspension bridges, aerial tram tours, hiking and horseback riding tours to the La Fortuna Waterfall, and water activities on Lake Arenal. Accommodation: the hotel of your choice.

DAY 7.ARENAL VOLCANO – RIO CELESTE (2,30 HOURS)

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, you will drive past beautiful landscapes and picturesque villages typical of the country on your way to the Tenorio Volcano. The always green scenery features agricultural plantations, cattle ranches, and rainforest. The Tenorio Volcano National Park is home to the incredible Celeste River (Rio Celeste), famous for its impressive light blue color from volcanic minerals. Accommodation: the hotel of your choice.

DAY 8.CELESTE RIVER

Breakfast at the hotel. Today is free to enjoy the activities around the Rio Celeste and its tropical forest. Accommodation: the hotel of your choice.

DAY 9.CELESTE RIVER – MONTEVERDE (3 HOURS)

Breakfast at the hotel. Your next destination is Monteverde, a small community located at the top of the Tilarán Mountain Range. Monteverde is an important ecotourism destination in Costa Rica, where the main attraction is its cloud forest reserves. During the trip, you will see beautiful scenery and pass through typical towns. You will have the afternoon free to enjoy your hotel’s facilities. Accommodation: the hotel of your choice.

DAY 10. MONTEVERDE

Breakfast at the hotel. Today is a free day. Monteverde is globally recognized for its cloud forest that extends on both sides of the Continental Divide. Currently, there are two reserves in the area: the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve and the Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve. You will be amazed at the area’s diversity and rich nature while walking along the numerous trails in either reserve. In the higher parts of the forest, there exists what is called “natural Elfin Forest” – the climate is such that the tallest trees do not exceed 10 meters. There are many activities in the area to complement your visit: adventure zip line tours, hanging bridges, hummingbird gardens, butterfly gardens, a Serpentarium (one of the best in the country), a nocturnal wildlife tour, horseback riding, a cheese tour (cheeses made in Monteverde are the best in Costa Rica), etc. Accommodation: the hotel of your choice.

DAY 11.MONTEVERDE – MANUEL ANTONIO (4.5 HOURS)

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning your journey will take you to the warm Central Pacific Coast. Manuel Antonio is your next destination; it is home to the smallest but most visited national park in Costa Rica. During your trip, be sure to stop at the Tarcoles River Bridge to see the giant crocodiles in the river below. The lush landscape along the Central Pacific Coast features rice and palm plantations. Accommodation: the hotel of your choice.

DAY 12.MANUEL ANTONIO

Breakfast at the hotel. Today is a free day to enjoy the beaches, in addition to the Manuel Antonio National Park. The Park has several trails for walking, viewpoints, beautiful beaches, and a high probability of seeing animals, especially the 4 species of Costa Rican monkeys, sloths and coatis. Other adventures available in the area include canopy zip line tours, horseback riding, sunset cruises to see dolphins and whales, and whitewater rafting. Here, there is a wide variety of cuisine for all tastes. Accommodation: the hotel of your choice.

DAY 13.MANUEL ANTONIO – SAN JOSÉ INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. (3.5 HOURS) END OF SERVICE.

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart to the airport. You must be at the airport three hours before your flight departure time. You will return your rental car to the rental agency by the airport, and the agency will take you to the airport. Happy return trip home! We hope to have you visit us again.

Requisites for Rental Car:

  • Valid driver’s license. The foreign license is valid in Costa Rica for 90 days from the date of entry into the country
  • Minimum driver age 21 years
  • The driver must carry a day driver’s license of the country of origin
  • The driver must present a passport
  • The driver must present credit card ( AMEX , VISA , MASTER CARD) original and available for the security deposit ($ 750 approximately)
